    PlentyWaka resumes operations, highlights safety measures for riders

    After over six weeks of shutdown due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the management of PlentyWaka, Nigeria’s premier bus-hailing platform today announced the resumption of full operations from Tuesday, 5th of May 2020 from 6:00 am – 6:00 pm daily.

    The announcement was made in the light of the recent announcements made by the Federal Government on the controlled easing of the lockdown starting from Monday, 4th of May 2020, coupled with the Lagos State Government’s directive on the mode of operations for transport businesses.

    According to an email, the resumption will attract a 20-25 percent increase in regular fares this period. “We’ve got great news for you. You can now enjoy much safer and reliable rides with Plentywaka from Tuesday which is just around the corner,” noted in the email.

    PlentyWaka highlighted some safety measures it has put in place to guarantee the safety of all riders and staff on board. Such measures include:

    ▪           Fumigation – All Plentywaka vehicles have been cleaned and fumigated to ensure our vehicles are free from any form of germs or viruses.

    ▪           Social Distancing – The seating arrangements have been adjusted to ensure social distancing for all riders. Starting on Tuesday, only 8 riders will be allowed into the 14 seater minibusses and 16 riders for the 28 seater coaster buses.

    ▪           Face Masks & Gloves – All Pilots and Vehicle Assistants have been instructed to wear their face masks, and gloves at all times. Riders are also advised to do the same.

    ▪           Hand Sanitizers – Hand sanitizers will continue to remain in all buses and this will be used at the point of entry. In addition to this, towels and disinfectant wipes have been made available to clean all seats at regular intervals.

    Also, safety protocols and guidelines for riders include: All riders are mandated to wear face masks on board, Social distancing will be enforced on the bus, Air conditioning will be switched off and operation time will be from 6 am-6 pm daily.

    Others are riders with visible signs of illness will not be allowed on board, touching of other riders is prohibited, use of QR Code scanning for check-ins and check-outs will be enabled to minimize contact with the Vas and to maintain 60 percent capacity, 14 seater buses will take 8 riders and 28 seater coaster buses will take 16 riders.
