As part of efforts to play a big role in Privacy Week 2021, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is scheduled to host a Privacy Technology Expo 2021 online on the 26th of January 2020.

The theme of the Expo is ‘Harnessing Data as a Critical Asset in the Digital Economy’, and is aimed at showcasing our national innovativeness and contribute to the growing global privacy-enhancing technology industry.

According to a statement signed by NITDA’s Head, Corporate Affairs & External Relations, Mrs. Hadiza Umar, the expo is spurred by NITDA’s issuance of the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) in 2019, which has stimulated pioneering technologies and aided compliance.

Meanwhile, NITDA is calling on Data Protection Service Organisations and Technology Developers, to make entries for the Expo, stressing that solutions will be evaluated on the basis of originality, marketability, scalability, inclusiveness, job and wealth creation potential.

Successful entries will have an opportunity to present their solution to a national and international audience.

Submission of entries via: http://bit.ly/PrivacyTechExpo21. The portal will be opened from January 13, 2021, till January 20, 2021. Entries will be evaluated and assessed by January 22, 2021

Shortlisted Finalists will be notified by January 25, 2021, and will be required to do a 3-minute live pitch on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
