Accra Institute of Technology (AIT) is breaking new ground in higher education by becoming a global leader in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) across its entire system. This ambitious initiative was announced by Professor Clement Dzidonu, AIT President, during the university’s 20th graduation ceremony.

Professor Dzidonu highlighted the transformative potential of AI, stating, “We are on the cusp of an AI revolution, and universities around the world are actively exploring its use.” Recognizing AI as more than a fad, AIT, a leader in technological education, views it as essential for the future of learning.

The university plans a comprehensive AI integration across 12 key areas of the student experience, encompassing everything from curriculum development and program delivery to assessments, research, and even alumni engagement.

“By seamlessly integrating AI throughout AIT, we’re not just enhancing education for our students, we’re establishing ourselves as a pioneer in intelligent and innovative higher education delivery,” declared Professor Dzidonu.

To ensure a smooth transition, the AIT Board of Trustees, comprised of seasoned educational leaders, is actively developing comprehensive policies for this transformative integration of AI and other cutting-edge technologies. This initiative aims to equip AIT graduates with the skills and adaptability needed to thrive in our increasingly AI-driven world.

“We believe this holistic approach will benefit not only our students, but also solidify AIT’s position as a global leader in delivering enriching and innovative higher education across the region and beyond,” concluded Professor Dzidonu.

This bold move by AIT underscores its commitment to staying at the forefront of technological innovation and ensuring its graduates are well-prepared for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
