The 70 percent national broadband target set by the Nigerian government before 2025 may be achieved considering the recent data released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) that the country’s broadband penetration moved from 40.9 percent in February 2022 to 44.5 percent in July 2022. The Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), the telecom sector’s cyber security incidence centre set up by the  Nigerian Communications Commission has identified a new malware, HiddenAds, which has infiltrated Google Play Store that can impact device performance and jeopardize users’ privacy. Three students who participated in the InterswitchSPAK National Science Competition, have shown outstanding academic performance at the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) by emerging top10 out of the over 1.7 million students who wrote the 2022 examination.
