The Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa has officially received the Nigeria Government Enterprise Architecture (NGEA) Portal, marking a pivotal step in the nation’s digital transformation journey.

Represented by Dr. Dimie Warowei at the handover ceremony in Abuja, Inuwa hailed the project as the fruit of a strategic partnership between Nigeria and the Republic of Korea, facilitated by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The NGEA initiative is a cornerstone of Nigeria’s e-Government Masterplan 2.0. Since its inception in late 2022, the project has focused on creating integrated systems across government institutions, establishing frameworks to ensure that different agencies can communicate with one another, and reducing duplication of digital efforts across the public sector.

Over the last 30 months, Nigerian and Korean experts collaborated to build reference models for Technology, Business, and Service, providing a clear roadmap for all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The framework has already been put to the test through pilot programmes in high-impact institutions such as the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Immigration Service and NITDA.

To ensure long-term stability, the portal’s infrastructure, deployed by Qorebox Technologies Limited and hosted by Galaxy Backbone, includes a two-year comprehensive maintenance plan.

“The NGEA Portal is more than just a platform; it is the foundation for a more coordinated and citizen-focused government,” added Inuwa.

With this handover, NITDA transitions into the lead role for the portal’s operational management, steering the country toward a more transparent and digitally driven public sector.
