  Smartphone shipments would grow 5% in 2017 touching 1.6 billion units worldwide, led by consumers shift to premium devices, with Korean Samsung’s flagships making a dent so far in 2017, the US-based research firm Gartner Wednesday said.   Wholly connectivity company, MainOne says it has completed repairs on its 3000km submarine cable system, which experience damages over two weeks ago. In a statement issued by the company, the Chief Executive Officer, Funke Opeke, the company said it has also conducted subsequent tests to ensure the cable is in good operating condition. Meaning, all service disruptions that occurred as a result of the damages have been restored.
