The intersection of dermatological excellence, technological innovation, and creative storytelling reached a fever pitch on April 23rd as the inaugural Cerawards Africa 2026 took center stage in Lagos.

Orchestrated by CeraVe, the world’s #1 dermatologist-recommended skincare brand, in an exclusive strategic partnership with Konga Health, the event celebrated the vibrant energy of Nigerian creators with life-changing prizes, including sponsored trips to Paris and millions in cash rewards.

Making its debut on the continent, CerAwards 2026 chose Nigeria as its first destination. This milestone was a direct result of the robust infrastructure and market trust built by Konga Health, Nigeria’s leading distributor of premium beauty products.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to accessibility, authenticity, and innovation. It ensures world-class skincare reaches the Nigerian consumer while combating counterfeits through trusted distribution. Additionally, the collaboration places Nigerian digital talent on a global pedestal.

Hosted by renowned media personality Bisola Aiyeola, the gala was attended by beauty industry elites, Nollywood stars, and top influencers, all gathered to witness a platform designed to reshape the narrative of skincare and commerce.

Delivering the keynote address, Chairman of Zinox Group, Leo Stan Ekeh, emphasized the strategic importance of excellence in building sustainable industries.

“What we are witnessing today is the convergence of technology, creativity, and commerce. At Konga, and particularly through Konga Health, we are committed to ensuring Nigerians have access to genuine products while creating platforms that drive economic value,” Ekeh stated.

Under the leadership of Yvonne Enwerem, VP of Konga Health, the platform has become the exclusive custodian of CeraVe’s brand integrity in the region, shielding consumers from the risks of the grey market.

The competition attracted over 800 entries from content creators nationwide. A distinguished jury, including Nollywood powerhouse Funke Akindele, actor Uzor Arukwe, and CeraVe Africa’s Anais Routhiau narrowed the field to 64 shortlistees. Following a massive public engagement that saw over 65,000 votes, 28 finalists emerged to compete across six categories.

In an act of further encouragement, 1st runners-up received N1 million each, while several other participants walked away with N500,000 in consolation prizes.

The evening also honored the giants of storytelling who paved the way. Special Nollywood Recognition Awards were presented to Funke Akindele and Uzor Arukwe for their outstanding contributions to the film industry, further cementing the link between beauty and the cinematic arts.

Beyond the glitz and glamour, CerAwards 2026 signals a broader shift in how global brands engage with Africa. By leveraging Konga Health’s ecosystem, CeraVe has moved beyond mere retail, fostering a community of creators who are now equipped to take their craft to the world.
