    Covid-19: GSMA looks to Nigeria for EdTech solutions

    The GSMA is inviting leading EdTech start-ups from Nigeria, Indonesia and Côte d’Ivoire to a webinar discussion, where the impact of mobile technology services in helping to provide educational services to those that need them in the context of COVID-19 will be looked at.

    COVID-19 has closed schools for millions of students worldwide, and the pandemic disproportionately threatens developing countries – not only as a health crisis but also as a devastating social and economic crisis.

    But the webinar will opportunity for the global audience to hear from the founders of EdTech start-ups and see the significance of their work. The event will be held online on Thursday, 11 June at 09:00 BST. Register to attend and join us.

    “We are bringing some of our leading EdTech start-ups together, from Indonesia, Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire, to look at the impact their mobile technology services are having in helping provide educational services to those that need them in the context of COVID-19,” GSMA announced in an email message.

    Tagged ‘Innovating During Crisis: COVID-19 and Digital Education’ the live online panel discussion will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the EdTech start-up portfolio within the GSMA Innovation Fund. The founding teams of education organisations, Ruangguru (Indonesia), PrepClass (Nigeria) and Eneza Education (Côte d’Ivoire) will focus on what works as a start-up means in the midst of a global pandemic.
