    Defence Minister inspects Nigerian Air Force Project in Sokoto

    The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, accompanied by the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Alh. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, conducted an inspection of the ongoing development of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) 119 Composite Group (CG) provisional layout in Sokoto State.

    The visit, as highlighted by Henshaw Ogubike, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry, underscores the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing national security.

    During the inspection, Dr. Matawalle commended the dedication and professionalism of the NAF personnel, emphasizing their crucial role in safeguarding the nation. He reaffirmed the government’s pledge to provide the necessary resources to ensure the Air Force’s operational efficiency, particularly in countering security threats in the North-West region.

    Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto echoed the Minister’s sentiments, commending the synergy between the Federal and State Governments in addressing security challenges. He pledged Sokoto State’s unwavering support to the Armed Forces, ensuring the provision of necessary resources to maintain peace and stability in the region.

    The Governor also expressed his admiration for Dr. Matawalle’s commitment to resolving the security challenges in the North-West. He highlighted the Minister’s resilience and bravery in venturing into previously dangerous areas, leading to the reopening of deserted regions.

    The Unit Commander briefed the Minister and Governor on the progress of the NAF project. The GOC 8 Division, Brigadier General I.A Ajose, and other top military officers were also present during the inspection.
