    Dr. Emembolu joins Board of Africa’s Leading Digital Skills Accelerator

    Digital Skills Accelerator Africa (DSAA) recently announced the appointment of Dr. Itoro Emembolu, Director at TechQuest STEM Academy to the DSAA Board as an Advisor to the Board.

    The Digital Skills Accelerator Africa e. V. (DSAA) is an independent non-profit association of Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO), and Business Process Outsourcing ITO and BPO (BPO) companies aimed at sustainably strengthening African economies by creating jobs in the digital sector, promoting their long-term growth and driving cooperation between Africa and Europe. Dr. Emembolu brings a wealth of experience in digital innovation, research, and capacity building to DSAA’s mission of advancing digital skills across the African continent.

    She is a distinguished engineer and researcher with over 18 years of experience spanning research and education, project management, monitoring and evaluations, community engagement, program design and implementation, business strategy, knowledge management, and data analysis. She holds a B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc in International Business, Energy & Petroleum from the University of Aberdeen, an MPhil in Management from Lagos Business School, and a PhD in Computer Networks and Security from Northumbria University. ​

    As Director of TechQuest STEM Academy, Dr. Emembolu has been instrumental in developing talents and providing resources for STEM, ICT, and digital literacy programs, impacting nearly 100,000 individuals in the last decade directly and indirectly. Her commitment to bridging the digital divide is further demonstrated through her diverse roles across 3 continents where her work focuses on talent development, decent work, digital innovation and its real-world applications. ​

    Dr. Emembolu’s dedication to fostering tech-driven solutions is evident in her previous tenure as a Board Member at AfriLabs, a network of over 500 technology and innovation hubs across 53 African countries. Notably, she started and leads the AfriLabs Research Group, emphasizing the importance of research in evidence-based impact within the tech ecosystem. ​

    In addition to her extensive experience, Dr. Emembolu has authored or co-authored over 14 publications, contributing significantly to the fields of STEM education, digital innovation and entrepreneurship​. Dr. Emembolu’s appointment underscores DSAA’s commitment to integrating diverse expertise to foster inclusive digital transformation across Africa.​
