    Dutum Construction launches CSR initiative to empower communities

    Dutum Construction Limited, an award-winning Nigerian construction and real estate world-class engineering group with a reputation for technical excellence founded on more than 20 years’ experience has unveiled its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to provide communities with social amenities.

    Dutum Construction had in the past rewarded low-income earners and children of some communities in Abuja, Nigeria.

    According to the announcement, the Management reiterated that in the recent past, the company committed resources to show appreciation and give back to society and communities where they have had the opportunity to showcase their work.

    The statement reads: “Dutum Construction has provided the following amenities such as but not limited to providing social amenities such as the provision of boreholes; renovations of health centres and classrooms; providing scholarships for students taking courses in the building environment such as building construction, architecture and civil engineering in tertiary institutions; provision of sponsorship in programmes such as ICT for girls in Ondo State and STEAM fair Abuja”.

    The Company also intends to further enhancing their social responsibilities by supporting some communities through educational, physical resources and healthcare projects.

    “Yes, under education, we are seeking for communities to pitch for building and renovation of schools; provision of sports kits; provision of back packs; hosting competitions within schools in a community; provision of educational materials; creating awareness on sex education, rape/consent and career talk

    “When it comes to physical resources, Dutum Construction Nigeria has passion to provide communities with recreational facilities and parks; historical and cultural sites; road and transport systems; water and land related amenities and vacant and underused buildings”, the statement reads.

    Continuing, the Company will provide selected communities with Healthcare facilities as means to eradicate hunger and the provision of mosquito net; promoting preventive healthcare (Such as provision of basic drugs); promoting sanitation and providing immunization for children age 0 – 2 years.

    “As a corporate entity, we take the plight of men, women and children seriously. Therefore, we welcome suggestions on locations for any of the above options in Nigeria, the message contained.

    The Dutum Construction further advised Nigerians to nominate their community for any of the above options by “sending an email including pictures of the community to Dutum.CSR@gmail.com before 15th of September 2019”.
