The founder/chairman of S Mobile Group, Kingsley Adonu has disclosed plans to commission an innovation centre in Enugu State, codenamed S Mobile Tech Hub. The Tech Hub, he said, is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of S Mobile Group to promote skills development, youth entrepreneurship, and job creation in new technology and innovations in the state.

Kingsley Adonu, a visionary entrepreneur who built S Mobile Group as a conglomerate synonymous with excellence and diversity, said that the hub is in recognition of the ingenuity of the State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, who has shown the capacity to redefine the economy of the Southeastern State, “and the creativity of young people in the State, coupled with the need to channel these to more productive and impactful ends, rather than social vices like Internet fraud.

As the Chief Executive Officer, he has steered the group to remarkable heights, overseeing a spectrum of businesses that span across Telecommunications, Oil and Gas, Real Estate, Hospitality, Water Production, Agriculture, Technology, E-commerce, Energy, Education, Sports, Entertainment, Logistics and Financial services with branches extending globally in the UK, USA, China, South Africa, and Canada.

Under Kingsley’s astute leadership, S Mobile Group has emerged as a major partner for MTN, as evidenced by the impactful presence of the brand in the telecommunications landscape. His strategic insights and forward-thinking approach have positioned the group as a dynamic player in multiple industries.

As the foremost development agent, S Mobile has the mission to transform South East’s technology sector through its proposed hub by providing business support services to enable new young people in the region to engage in meaningful businesses and existing enterprises to thrive.

“S Mobile Tech Hub is a vision to manifest the Group’s deliberate programmes towards building a dynamic and vibrant startup ecosystem in this region starting with Enugu State.

“Again, it is a demonstration of our support to the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, who has not minced words on his intent to build a resilient city, where poverty is reduced to the barest minimum. We are keying into that vision, and it is driven by the realization that tech startups are becoming major economic value creators in the 21st century.

He said that S Mobile Tech Hub will leverage trends to accelerate its programme, especially as artificial intelligence, robotics, big data, etc., become embedded in our daily lives.

“S Mobile Tech Hub is also motivated by the desire to support quality projects with high developmental impact such as job creation and poverty alleviation to enhance the socio-economic standard of, especially, young Nigerians.

He said that when completed, the hub will have facilities including high-speed internet access, shared and private office spaces, and a well-equipped robotics training lab, among others.
