FairMoney Microfinance Bank has announced the official launch of its Asset Financing Solution, a strategic initiative designed to expand access to credit-backed asset financing for mobility entrepreneurs nationwide, utilizing a robust, data-driven application and evaluation process.

The Nigerian transportation and logistics sector continues to anchor the economy, recording sustained growth rates of approximately 9.87%–10.1% in late 2025. With road freight and passenger transport remaining the nation’s dominant modes of transit, FairMoney’s new initiative aims to bridge the financing gap for thousands of transporters and delivery merchants. By providing structured access to commercial vehicles, the product directly addresses the credit limitations historically faced by micro-SMEs in the logistics sector.

Mobility entrepreneurs seeking to acquire vehicles can now leverage flexible repayment plans tailored to the specific cash-flow realities of the industry. Utilizing FairMoney’s proprietary technology-enabled onboarding and risk assessment capabilities, applicants undergo a streamlined yet thorough evaluation. Repayments are structured on daily or weekly schedules, ensuring operational continuity and protecting the liquidity of growing businesses.

“Our mission has always been to drive financial inclusion and unlock income opportunities by supporting individuals and small business operators,” said Henry Obiekea, Managing Director of FairMoney MFB.

“With this solution, we are backing the mobility entrepreneurs who form the backbone of our commerce and transportation network. The intra-state transport sector is experiencing sustained demand; our goal is to help operators spread asset costs into manageable installments, fostering broader economic participation,” he added.

This initiative marks a significant expansion of FairMoney’s product ecosystem, moving beyond personal and working capital loans into commercial asset financing. By enabling entrepreneurs to build a verifiable credit history through vehicle repayments, FairMoney is actively accelerating the transition of informal sector workers into the formal financial system.

The program is now live and accepting applications from eligible operators via the FairMoney Business platform and through designated partner hubs across major cities nationwide.

In tandem with the asset financing rollout, FairMoney continues to strengthen its dedicated business banking suite for SMEs through enhanced merchant lending capabilities. All lending activities are anchored in FairMoney’s long-term commitment to responsible credit, strict regulatory adherence, and sustainable SME development.
