In a strong affirmation of its commitment to digital transformation, FirstBank has commissioned its seventh fully automated branch, the Digital Xperience Centre (DXC), at Area 10, Garki, Abuja.

The new Centre is designed to deliver seamless, paperless, and customer-driven financial services, setting a benchmark for the future of banking in Nigeria.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Group Chief Executive Officer Olusegun Alebiosu stated the initiative reflects the bank’s forward-looking strategy to provide convenient, secure, and innovative self-service options in line with global digital banking trends.

“For us at FirstBank, the future is digital,” Alebiosu said. “What we are building is the bank of the future.” He highlighted that account opening is now digital, and customers can perform “almost everything on their phones.” The DXC specifically offers a 24/7 self-service alternative for services like cash deposits, even on weekends.

Alebiosu emphasized the bank’s significant investments in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence to detect irregular transactions and prevent fraud. This advanced security is supported by a tripartite confirmation system involving account details, biometrics, and phone numbers.

The Abuja Centre brings the total number of operational FirstBank Digital Xperience Centres nationwide to seven. Alebiosu also revealed ambitious expansion plans, with the eighth DXC slated to open in Kano, followed by others in Nsukka, Benin, and Ibadan.

The initiative drew commendation from Senator Babangida Hussaini (Jigawa North-West), who described the Centre as “a model for digital banking excellence” and urged other financial institutions to emulate FirstBank’s proactive approach to innovation and security.

Group Executive, Retail Banking North Division, Idris Ado Ibrahim, noted that the centres are expected to improve operational efficiency, reduce waiting time, and significantly enhance customer satisfaction. Customers present at the event expressed optimism that the initiative will substantially improve service quality and convenience.

This state-of-the-art hub represents a significant leap by FirstBank towards revolutionizing the banking industry, enabling customers to explore the future of banking firsthand and navigate the digital landscape with confidence.
