In a powerful collaboration aimed at fostering the potential of young lives, FlashChange partnered with Ruth Foundation to successfully execute the “Orphanage Skill Acquisition Assembly 2.0 program.” This impactful initiative provided vital skill acquisition opportunities for vulnerable children within the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The five-day program, commencing on Monday, April 14th, was thoughtfully designed to equip 153 children, ranging in age from 4 to 18 years, with essential life skills. The curriculum encompassed financial literacy, fashion design, photography, creative arts, cooking, and leadership development, offering a diverse range of skills to empower the young participants. The training was simultaneously conducted across four homes: Compassionate Orphanage Home, Precious Pearl Orphanage, Little Saints Orphanage, and House of Mercy Orphanage.

Speaking at the program’s closing ceremony, Olamide Ajibola, Chief Operating Officer of FlashChange, expressed the organization’s enthusiasm for the initiative. “We are delighted to be part of this life-changing program,” he stated. “At FlashChange, we firmly believe that children are the heart of every community. By investing in their development today, we are not just shaping individual futures but nurturing the future leaders, creators, and change-makers who will contribute positively to society’s growth.” He further emphasized FlashChange’s commitment to such initiatives, aligning with their CSR pillar of human capital development, and commended the children for their participation and the facilitators for their impactful teaching.

Itunuoluwa Ruth Da-Silva, the founder of Ruth Foundation, conveyed her deepest gratitude to partnering organizations like FlashChange for their belief in the foundation’s vision and their unwavering support. “It is inspiring to see the impact of the Orphanage Skill Acquisition Assembly 2.0 program, which has directly benefited 153 vulnerable children,” she remarked. “Providing these children with access to knowledge and skills early in life creates a powerful ripple effect that can transform the entire community.”

Jesujoba Ojelabi, Chief Marketing Officer of FlashChange, lauded Ruth Foundation for their initiative and encouraged the children to take their newly acquired skills seriously, recognizing their potential for positive life transformation. “As a company, we are proud to offer our support to the foundation in future endeavors,” he affirmed. “My advice to you children is to be great ambassadors of this program by continuously practicing the skills and knowledge you have gained. We are truly proud of your achievements and the success stories emerging.”

Demonstrating their commitment to the children’s ongoing development, FlashChange and Ruth Foundation donated essential items, including an electric sewing machine, a cake mixer, packs of Yeye yarn, pins, stitch markers, scissors, a measuring scale, and a make-up kit box filled with tools.

In light of the program’s success, FlashChange and Ruth Foundation are jointly appealing to community leaders, government bodies, private sector partners, and other stakeholders to lend their support to similar initiatives. Such programs are crucial in equipping children with the necessary skills to thrive in a rapidly evolving world, ultimately fostering a brighter future for the entire community.
