Galaxy Backbone, in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), has launched a groundbreaking initiative to modernize government services in Nigeria.

Tagged Government Service Portal (GSP), the unified digital platform aims to streamline interactions between citizens and government agencies, providing easier access to essential services.

The GSP, designed and deployed by Galaxy Backbone with technical support from KOICA, offers a secure, accessible, and user-friendly portal for citizens to access various government services.

From NIN registration and immigration services to healthcare and beyond, the platform eliminates the need for physical visits, saving time and effort for citizens.

Speaking on the initiative, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanyu, Managing Director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone noted that the project has received strong support from the Nigerian government, with the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy emphasizing its potential to transform the lives of citizens.

He highlighted the company’s commitment to leveraging technology for improved governance.

Also, KOICA, represented by Country Director Mr. Sunjil SON, expressed the agency’s dedication to supporting Nigeria’s digital transformation and fostering sustainable development through technology.

    Key Features of the GSP:

    • Enhanced Efficiency: Streamlines processes and reduces bureaucratic delays.
    • Improved Accessibility: Available on mobile devices and accessible in multiple languages.
    • Data Security: Employs robust cybersecurity measures to protect citizen information.
    • Citizen Empowerment: Enables citizens to engage more effectively with their government.

    Pilot Agencies and Future Expansion

Twelve key government agencies, including FMCIDE, NIMC, SMEDAN, NCC, NIPOST, FRSC, NAFDAC, NYSC, NPF, NIS, BPP, and NEPC, are participating in the initial phase of the GSP rollout. A successful pilot will pave the way for a wider implementation across all government ministries, departments, and agencies.

A Brighter Future for Nigerian Citizens

The Government Service Portal marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s digital journey. By simplifying access to government services and improving citizen engagement, the GSP has the potential to enhance the quality of life for millions of Nigerians.
