In a significant stride toward bolstering national security through technological innovation, Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB), Nigeria’s premier provider of ICT infrastructure and digital services, has officially partnered with the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF). This collaboration aims to develop and integrate Smart Police Stations across Nigeria, a move set to revolutionize the country’s security architecture.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed at Galaxy Backbone’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja, with both organizations committing to fostering a more secure, connected, and technologically advanced Nigeria.

Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, Managing Director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone, emphasized the critical role of this partnership in advancing digital policing.

“Today’s agreement represents more than a partnership—it reflects a shared vision for a smarter, more resilient, and inclusive Nigeria,” he stated.

He added that this collaboration will embed cutting-edge technology directly into Nigeria’s security framework through the deployment of Smart Police Stations, underscoring GBB’s dedication to innovation, trust, and nation-building.

Under the terms of the MoU, GBB will equip these Smart Police Stations with essential digital infrastructure, including high-speed fiber connectivity, robust cloud platforms and secure digital infrastructure.

These technological provisions will empower police stations with advanced ICT tools designed to enhance real-time communication, surveillance capabilities, efficient data sharing, and overall operational effectiveness within the Nigeria Police Force.

This strategic partnership is expected to significantly elevate public safety outcomes. By enabling more data-driven decision-making, improving incident response times, and fostering greater transparency in law enforcement, the initiative marks a pivotal step towards a more secure and technologically advanced Nigeria. It also reinforces Galaxy Backbone’s vital role as the digital backbone of government operations, facilitating secure and interoperable platforms that drive innovation, governance, and national development.
