Customers of GTBank, a prominent Nigerian financial institution, are expressing growing frustration with the bank’s service quality, citing poor service delivery, technical glitches, and unresolved issues.

This wave of discontent is primarily being voiced on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter).

Complaints range from difficulties accessing account statements and missing transactions to unresolved disputes. These ongoing challenges are eroding customer trust and prompting some to seek alternative banking solutions.

Technext, an online news platform has compiled a selection of X user testimonies that highlight the severity of these issues.

    • User @bigbrovar recounted a harrowing experience, stating, “I need my account statements from 2021 to 2024 for stockbroker withdrawals. After spending a whole day at the bank, no one could retrieve them.”
    • Echoing this frustration, @sodiq1313 shared, “They could only provide statements from July 2024. It’s disheartening, especially from a bank I once highly regarded. I’ve switched banks.”
    • @obiokeke described a similar ordeal, “I requested an account statement via email 10 times last week. Support was unhelpful, and I had to resort to exporting statements quarter by quarter due to size limits. Even then, one quarter failed to generate.”

These incidents exemplify the growing discontent among GTBank customers, raising concerns about the bank’s ability to maintain high service standards and retain customer loyalty in a competitive market.
