The Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance & Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA), Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) have met to resolve the lingering issues of telecom infrastructure in Lagos.

The meeting, held at the NCC Headquarters in Abuja, brought together key stakeholders including LASIMRA’s CEO Prince Oyekanmi Elegushi, NCC’s EVC Dr. Aminu Maida, and ALTON Chairman Engr. Gbenga Adebayo and Publicity Secretary Mr. Damian Udeh.

Discussions during the meeting centered on safeguarding essential telecom assets in Lagos, with LASIMRA emphasizing the need for robust oversight. A key topic was the ongoing Tower Enumeration Project, an audit designed to identify and address problematic communication infrastructure. LASIMRA also raised concerns about infrastructure damage caused by fibre deployment, reinforcing its commitment to enforcing penalties to protect public assets.

All parties agreed on the necessity of a unified strategy to enhance security, improve connectivity, and ensure widespread access to quality telecommunications services across Lagos. The meeting underscored a collaborative effort to bring order to the sector and create a more secure and digitally inclusive environment.
