The Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation, in partnership with industry giants TD Africa, Konga Group, Zinox Technologies, and Task Systems, has announced that the application portal for its landmark technology scholarship program will officially open on Monday, April 27, 2026.
Originally slated for April 22, the launch date was moved to ensure final technical optimizations provide a secure and transparent experience for applicants nationwide.
The initiative was first unveiled on February 22, 2025, to mark the 70th birthday of Zinox Group Chairman, Leo Stan Ekeh. Eschewing a traditional celebration, the tech pioneer chose to fund the education of 1,000 indigent whiz-kids to study Computer Science at federal universities.
This programme expands on Ekeh’s four-decade legacy, which has already seen over 6,709 beneficiaries trained through his various philanthropic and corporate efforts.
The scholarship is designed as a comprehensive ecosystem to bridge the gap between classroom theory and industry demands. Beneficiaries will receive full financial support for Computer Science degrees at federal institutions. They will also gain access to mentorship and guidance from successful members of the Nigerian Computer Society. Additionally, the program provides technical support through hands-on industry exposure via partner organizations. Finally, recipients will benefit from professional networking connections to help launch their careers in the global digital economy.
The organizers have emphasized that the selection process will be strictly merit-driven and inclusive, targeting brilliant but underprivileged talent from all regions of Nigeria.
