Luno, the global cryptocurrency platform, and AltSchool Africa, a leading accredited online learning provider, have today announced a landmark partnership to provide fully funded crypto education to 15,000 Nigerians.

The program, titled “Demystifying Crypto for Africans,” represents the largest single crypto education commitment on the continent to date. It is designed to deepen financial literacy, build trust in digital assets, and foster safer participation in the burgeoning digital economy.

Nigeria remains a global leader in digital asset engagement, with approximately 33% of the population interacting with cryptocurrency. However, this rapid adoption has created an urgent need for credible, structured learning to combat misinformation.

The partnership leverages Luno’s industry expertise and AltSchool Africa’s proven track record in digital skills training to provide a curriculum that is both practical and tailored to the African context.

“As crypto adoption accelerates, formal literacy must grow alongside it so individuals can benefit safely,” says Ayotunde Alabi, CEO of Luno Nigeria. “Our partnership with AltSchool Africa is a foundational investment in the integrity of the industry, turning perceived risk into real economic opportunity.”

Led by Web3 expert Abdulsamad Tiamiyu, the course will move beyond theory to offer hands-on experience with wallets, exchanges, stablecoins, and research tools like CoinGecko and Etherscan.

The initiative will be rolled out in three cohorts of 5,000 learners each:

    • Cohort 1: Applications run January–February 2026; course runs in March 2026.
    • Cohort 2: Course access in July 2026.
    • Cohort 3: Course access in November 2026.

Adewale Yusuf, Co-founder and CEO of AltSchool Africa, emphasized the long-term vision: “This is more than a course; it is an investment in economic empowerment. AltSchool is proud to work with a partner that believes in access and education that creates measurable impact for a continent that deserves to participate fully in the global economy.”

Interested participants can submit their applications starting January 2026 via the AltSchool Africa portal. Scholarship decisions will be communicated to successful applicants within one week of submission.
