MDXi, a MainOne owned data center company at a recent webinar organized for the Oil & Gas industry players highlighted how data center services can be optimized for business operations in the industry, reputed as Nigeria’s biggest source of revenue.

Speaking at a webinar titled; ‘Optimizing Business Operations in Oil and Gas Industry with MDXi Cloud and colocation solutions’, Akinkunmi Ogunsola, Head of Cloud Services at MainOne, showcased how businesses in the Oil and Gas industry have leveraged data center solutions for success in today’s market.

“It is important that the Oil and Gas sector rethink the way they manage their IT infrastructure in order to derive certain benefits and migrate to the ‘new normal’ with zero service impact,” he said.

The high-impact, virtual conference offered insights into myriad benefits of data center services, enabling attendees to appreciate the benefits of outsourcing their IT infrastructure to a service provider that complies with global standards. MDXi is certified compliant with ISO27001, ISO9001, PCI-DSS and SOC 2 standards which provides the assurance these companies require to focus on their core areas rather than IT.

The panel session had Corporate Communications General Manager of Lekoil Nigeria, Hamilton Esi and Managing Director of ILF Engineers Nigeria Limited West Africa, Abiodun Oshodi, discussing the benefits of leveraging MDXi’s data center services and how these solutions have helped their organizations improve performance, optimize business operations and increase efficiency.

According to Esi, “With the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to rethink how to work effectively at a time when everybody retreated to their homes and so thought that moving our IT infrastructure into a colocation facility would free up the burden of managing things on our own. The MDXi team assisted us to ensure a seamless transition that facilitated a company policy that has staff working from home, with better efficiency and productivity”.

Abiodun Oshodi, recounted a similar experience. He explained how MainOne came to the company’s rescue by assisting to make the switch swift and seamless when his company had an urgent need to react to the pandemic.

MDXi continues to blaze the trail in enabling the digital transformation of businesses. Its carrier-neutral data centers provide colocation, cloud, and managed services to leading players in the Oil and Gas industry across West Africa.
