Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, has announced that telecommunications giant MTN Nigeria has invested a significant ₦3 billion in the 3 Million Technical Talents (3MTT) program since its inception.

The Minister, who disclosed this in his social media handles, noted that this substantial commitment underscores the critical role of public-private partnerships in driving Nigeria’s ambitious digital transformation agenda.

Minister Tijani lauded MTN Nigeria for its long-term support, acknowledging the cumulative ₦3 billion investment as a testament to their dedication. “As an early supporter of the initiative, MTN has played a vital role in enabling inclusive access to digital skills for thousands of young Nigerians across the country,” Dr. Tijani stated.

He emphasized that this kind of sustained collaboration is fundamental to achieving the government’s vision of cultivating a future-ready workforce and establishing Nigeria as a leading exporter of technical talent. The 3MTT program aims to empower millions of Nigerians with essential digital skills, bridging the talent gap and fostering economic growth.

“Public-private partnerships are key to the success of Nigeria’s digital transformation,” Dr. Tijani reiterated. He expressed optimism about deepening these collaborations with the private sector as the 3MTT program scales, anticipating the unlocking of even more opportunities for Nigerians and the national economy.

MTN’s substantial investment highlights a growing trend of corporate entities actively participating in human capital development initiatives, aligning their business objectives with national development goals. This partnership is expected to further accelerate the 3MTT program’s reach and impact, contributing significantly to Nigeria’s emergence as a digital powerhouse.
