The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Nigerian Academy of Engineering are discussing possible collaboration that would lead to the development of engineering in the country.

This discussion took place yesterday when the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, led by the Vice President of the Academy, Professor. Fola Lasisi paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Vice Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, at the Commission’s headquarter in Abuja.

In his remark during the visit, Danbatta noted that the Nigerian Academy of Engineering has been making a profound impact towards the growth of the Nigerian economy, especially in the manufacturing sector.

“We are committed to collaborating with the Academy in order to contribute our widow’s might towards the development of engineering in the country. We believe by so doing we will bring solace to some citizens through these efforts as well as carving a niche for ourselves,” Danbatta noted.

He added that the Commission has always worked in partnership with the Nigerian Academy of Engineering over the years, even before his emergence at the helm of affairs and that, he has only inherited the excellent tradition that has started in the past.

The Vice President of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, Professor. Fola Lasisi who led the delegation had stated in his opening remarks that they have come to express appreciation of the support accorded to them and to strengthen their relationship with the Commission.
