The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has sealed a partnership deal with the Lagos Central Senatorial District that will engage 10 fresh graduates from the district on a 4-Week Work Experience Programme.

According to the Controller Lagos Zonal Office of NCC, Henry Ojiokpota, the Work Experience Programme is a month-long exercise and is designed to empower youth with requisite work ethics, appropriate behaviour in an official environment and basic capacity building on telecommunication issues.

Ojiokpota disclosed that the 10 participants have gone through a basic orientation programme, which he led with other heads of the unit at the zonal office, noting that the orientation programme focused on the mandates of the Commission and the functions of the various departments.

Beneficiaries of the work experience programme have also participated in consumer enlightenment roadshows, visits to Base Transceiver Stations (BTS), as well as a tour of the Lagos campus of the Digital Bridge Institute, Oshodi.

Capacity building is one of the NCC’s cardinal agenda, which is also enshrined in the 8-point agenda unveiled by the Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Umar Danbatta few years ago.
