Four Nigerian universities – Lagos University Teaching Hospital Schools, Hillside University of Science and Technology, Aletheia University, and Ahman Pategi University – have partnered with New Horizons to provide students with training in internationally recognized ICT and project management skills.

The collaborations aim to address graduate unemployment by equipping students with in-demand skills relevant to the 21st-century workforce.

New Horizons MD/CEO, Mr. Tim Akano, emphasized the universities’ forward-thinking approach in embracing emerging technologies like AI, robotics, and machine learning. He stated that New Horizons, with its 43 years of international experience and presence in 71 countries, will leverage its expertise to equip undergraduates with globally recognized IT, e-business, and project development skills. This initiative builds upon New Horizons’ existing partnerships with 25 other Nigerian universities.

The partnerships are designed to enhance post-graduation employability and entrepreneurial opportunities, enabling graduates to compete internationally.

    • Hillside University of Science and Technology: The partnership was formalized on September 23, 2024, with Vice-Chancellor Professor Iheayinchukwu Okoro leading the signing ceremony.
    • Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Schools: A strategic partnership was established on December 17, 2024, with Chief Medical Director (CMD) Professor Wasiu Lanre Adeyemo and other principal officers expressing enthusiasm about the integration of ICT into their training programs.
    • Aletheia University: The partnership was launched on October 20, 2024, with Professor Amos Adeyinka highlighting the added value the collaboration brings to students both during and after graduation.
    • Ahman Pategi University: The new year began with a partnership launch on January 15, 2025. The collaboration aims to empower students and staff, giving them a competitive edge and opening doors to numerous opportunities through international skills and certifications.
