In a landmark move toward the Fourth Industrial Revolution, New Horizons Nigeria and the Redeemed College of Technology and Management (RECTEM) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently.

This strategic partnership centers on AI empowerment and the integration of cutting-edge digital skills into the Nigerian educational landscape.

Under this agreement, RECTEM makes history as the first private college of technology in Nigeria to adopt a comprehensive Fourth Industrial Revolution training model, as New Horizons will provide students with international ICT certifications and hands-on training in:

    • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics
    • Cybersecurity and Data Analytics
    • In-demand Entrepreneurial Digital Skills

Mr. Tim Akano, MD/CEO of New Horizons Nigeria, highlighted the organization’s 43-year global legacy across 90 countries, reaffirming their mission to bridge the skills gap. “We are committed to delivering practical, industry-aligned training that prepares Nigerian students for global competitiveness,” Akano stated.

The Rector of RECTEM, Prof. Izobo-Martins Oladunni Oluwatoyin, lauded the initiative as a timely catalyst that will enable graduates to compete favorably on the global stage.

Beyond the collegiate level, New Horizons announced the onboarding of 13 new secondary schools into its network of over 150 partners. The newly added schools for the year include Kimberly Castle, Strong Towers, Fountain Point College, Fountain Point Primary School, Treasure Stone, Christ the King School College, Christ the King Primary School, Jextoban College Ibafo, Yabatech Secondary School, TOAMY, Divine Offspring, Divine Heritage Ibadan, CMS Grammar School, and Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary.

This development reinforces New Horizons’ long-term commitment to nurturing digital talent from an early stage and building a sustainable pipeline of future-ready professionals.

Continuing its momentum into the new year, New Horizons signed a historic pact with Monarch University, Ota, on January 20, 2026. This partnership specifically targets AI Empowerment and ICT certification across all faculties, from Basic Sciences to the Humanities.

Also, to bolster research, New Horizons donated 250 high-end ICT courseware materials to the Monarch University Library. Vice Chancellor Prof. Mopelola Omoegun noted that the gesture is strategic to enhancing innovation and technological advancement within the university.
