The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has said the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting (NSPM) Plc is better placed to do a far better production of printed items and associated tasks for the NCC than any other entity that operates in the printing sector.
Executive Vice Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission, Professor Umar Danbatta, stated this yesterday when he received a delegation of top management of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting at the Commission’s headquarter in Abuja.
While expressing readiness to work towards the actualization of the proposed partnership with NSPM, Danbatta noted that the NCC will have no reservation in entrusting sensitive materials to NSPM Company to handle for it because of the confidence NCC has in the ability of the Company to execute such tasks diligently.
“Reviving the collaboration with the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting company is consistent with item 5 of the Commission’s 8-Point Agenda which speaks to exploring strategic collaboration and partnership with our numerous stakeholders, particularly agencies of government, and we believe that with what has transpired today we are now poised to take the relationship to a new level” the EVC stated.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director and Chief Executive of NSPM company, Abbas Masanawa, who led the delegation to the Commission’s headquarter said he and the delegation were there to strengthen its relationship with NCC.
“We have come here to explore ways to revive earlier business collaboration between the two agencies,” he said.
He added that the purpose of the visit, which is long overdue, is to commend NCC for its obvious strides in regulating the country’s telecommunication sector in line with world-class standard.
The Director of Public Affairs, Nnamdi Nwokike, who gave the closing remark, thanked the delegation for the visit. He said the NCC considers the visit as significant and fruitful, and therefore looks forward very enthusiastically to the collaboration.
