In aligning with its roadmap for strategic partnerships, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has decided to team up with the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) to harness the power of digital innovation for economic development in Nigeria.

Speaking during a visit by NIPSS’s Senior Executive Course 46 participants, the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa stressed the importance of collaboration in fostering impactful solutions. He highlighted the need to share ideas and expertise to improve lives and raise living standards across the country.

“Collaboration is key,” Inuwa stated. “No organization can achieve its goals in isolation. By working together, NITDA and NIPSS can illuminate how technology and digital innovation can drive economic growth, create jobs, and attract foreign investment.”

He elaborated on NITDA’s own transformation, including a revised mission and vision to enhance service delivery and propel the ICT sector’s growth. This transformation underscores NITDA’s commitment to serving Nigerians and ensuring core values reflect their willingness to fulfill their duties.

Also speaking, Brigadier General Abdulrahman Idris, leading the NIPSS delegation, provided context for their visit. He explained that NIPSS, established in 1979, serves as a high-level policy think-tank. Its core mission is to develop highly qualified technocrats who can conceptualize and implement innovative policies for national development.

Idris emphasized NIPSS’s successful track record, graduating 45 courses that support government institutions in national development initiatives. He concluded by highlighting the importance of collaborating with NITDA, a critical stakeholder in the digital economy sector, to address national digital development goals as mandated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

This NITDA-NIPSS collaboration signifies a promising step towards leveraging digital innovation for Nigeria’s economic growth. By combining expertise and fostering knowledge sharing, this partnership has the potential to create a more robust and thriving digital economy for the nation.
