    Pantami, Danbatta, others make “Worldex Top 10 Tech Leaders” list for Nigeria

    The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, the Executive Vice Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, the CEO of MTN Nigeria Plc, Mr. Ferdinand Moolman, and the Executive Vice Chairman of Globacom Limited, Mrs. Bella Disu, have been named among the “Top 10 Tech Leaders in Nigeria 2020”, a recognition program of the annual World Digital Exhibition (Worldex).

    Worldex is a technology trade fair, which is organized annually by Alford Conferences Limited. It seeks to link up Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) with the rest of the global technology community. The annual event is held in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.

    The “Worldex Africa Top 10 Tech Leaders” program recognizes and honours the most influential men and women in both the public and private sectors who drive the growth of the ICT industry throughout the SSA region. Each week Worldex focuses on one of the 47 countries that make up this region which is the second most populated in the world after Asia.

    In a statement issued and signed by Linda Idakwo, Head, Social Media at Alford Conferences Limited, other people listed for Nigeria are Ms. Funke Opeke, the CEO of MainOne Cable Nigeria Limited, Mrs. Juliet Ehimuan Chiazor, the Director of Google Nigeria/West Africa, and Arc. Yusuf Kazaure, the former CEO of Galaxy Backbone Plc who is now the Chairman of Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited.

    The rest are Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of Zinox Technologies Limited, Mr. Mitchell Elegbe, Founder/CEO of Interswitch Group, and Mr. John Obaro, CEO of SystemSpecs Nigeria Limited.

    Engr. Dennis Jamgbadi, the Managing Director of Alford Conferences Limited, the owner and organizer of Worldex, said that “We want to use this weekly recognition program to honour and celebrate the top leaders in the ICT industry in all the 47 countries of Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as forge greater cooperation and collaboration amongst them.
