The Permanent Secretary of Defense, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, has officially launched the Project Steering Committee and Project Implementation Technical Team for the Performance Management System (PMS) and Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems within the Ministry of Defense.

During the inauguration ceremony at Ship House, Abuja, Dr. Kana emphasized the Ministry’s capacity to successfully implement these systems, citing the presence of experienced and knowledgeable staff. He expressed confidence in the ability of the newly formed committees to drive the process forward.

“We have experts within the Ministry who can guide this process. Our Directors and Deputy Directors, with their expertise, will be instrumental in cascading these systems down to the entire Ministry,” Dr. Kana stated.

The Permanent Secretary called upon the PMS Champions to demonstrate unwavering commitment and excellence in their roles. He acknowledged that challenges might arise during the initial rollout but urged the champions to remain resilient and engage in continuous training.

“Training will not be an issue in the Ministry,” Dr. Kana assured. “We can afford to organize weekly training sessions on PMS and ECM.”

Dr. Kana underscored the expectation for the PMS and ECM Champions to lead the way in enhancing efficiency, productivity, and accountability within the Ministry. The ultimate goal is to achieve total compliance with government performance standards.
