As the demand for experts in digital security and analytics surges across the continent, TD Africa has partnered with the Enugu Tech Festival (ETF) and the Enugu State Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology to launch a landmark training initiative.

Branded “Code Your Defence,” the programme offers fully sponsored training in Cybersecurity and Data Science to equip young Africans with industry-standard skills.

The initiative is designed to transform participants into job-ready professionals through a curriculum that blends foundational theory with practical, real-world applications. By focusing on Cybersecurity and Data Science, the partners aim to address the critical need for infrastructure protection and data-driven decision-making in African business and governance.

Fridel Makun, Head of Marketing at TD Africa, highlighted the mission behind the project:

“At TD Africa, we believe Africa’s digital future will be shaped by people who are equipped, not just inspired. ‘Code Your Defence’ is our way of expanding access to the kind of training that builds confidence, competence, and career readiness.”

The “Code Your Defence” initiative is structured to remove financial barriers to high-level tech education. Key features include:

    • Fully Sponsored Tuition: Free professional training for all selected participants.
    • Expert Instruction: Lessons delivered by experienced industry practitioners.
    • Global Certification: Graduates will receive recognized credentials to boost their employability.
    • Career Pathways: Access to internships, job placements, and professional networking.

Who Can Apply? The program is open to students, recent graduates, early-career professionals looking to upskill, and individuals seeking a career pivot. While a strong willingness to learn is required, no advanced prior experience in tech is necessary.

Training is scheduled to commence on January 19, 2026. Due to high demand and limited slots, the organizers have encouraged interested applicants to complete their registration early.

This collaboration marks a significant step toward building a future-ready workforce capable of securing Africa’s digital systems and supporting sustainable economic development.
