TD Africa, West Africa’s leading technology distribution giant, and Schneider Electric, the global leader in energy management and automation, have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the joint development of Future-Ready, AI-Powered Data Centres across Nigeria.
The announcement was the major highlight of the Schneider Electric Innovation Day Nigeria 2025, an event that celebrated Schneider Electric’s 25th anniversary in Nigeria and gathered over 450 stakeholders from the technology, energy, infrastructure, and public policy sectors. The event’s theme, “Unlocking Nigeria’s Energy Future: Policy, Innovation, and Investment,” underscored the strategic importance of this new alliance.
This crucial partnership aims to significantly strengthen Nigeria’s digital infrastructure. The next-generation data centre facilities will be built for both Core and Edge environments and are expected to play a pivotal role in aligning with Nigeria’s national ambitions for resilience, sustainability, and technological advancement. These new centres will be vital in supporting emerging technologies and enabling Nigerian enterprises to compete globally.
Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of the Zinox Group, signed the MoU on behalf of TD Africa, emphasizing the alliance’s profound significance for the nation’s digital evolution. He stated, “This partnership is a testimony to TD Africa’s commitment to championing Africa’s digital future. Building AI-powered, resilient, and sustainable data centres is not just an investment in technology; it is an investment in the competitiveness of Nigerian enterprises for the next decade.”
He concluded that together with Schneider Electric, they are “building the infrastructure that will support a smarter, greener, and more prosperous Nigeria.”

The signing ceremony and event also saw participation from key leaders, including Walid Sheta, Zone President, Middle East & Africa, and Canninah Dladla, Cluster President, Schneider Electric, as well as senior executives from government agencies like the Energy Commission of Nigeria and the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
The partnership firmly establishes TD Africa’s long-standing reputation as a catalyst for West Africa’s digital transformation, ensuring the nation’s digital competitiveness for years to come.
