The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has selected Nigerian entrepreneur, Powerstove as one of its Growth Stage Impact Ventures.

“Let’s congratulate Powerstove, our Nigerian finalist in the Energy category,” UNDP announced in an email message sent by Laura Eboa Songue, its Communication & Marketing Consultant.

Other entrepreneurs selected by UNDP, EPFL, Orange and SAP  are Kingo, Iluméxico, and Easy Solar, saying they are the most innovative and investment-ready ventures providing products and services to access affordable and clean energy from Mexico, Guatemala, Sierra Leone and Nigeria!

These entrepreneurs serve more than 700,000 users between Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa, providing solar-home systems, smokeless cookstoves, and solar lamps to low-income communities, also at the last mile. They are looking to raise between USD 500,000 and 8 million in equity or debt to scale their impact and operations.

    What’s next?

The top 12  entrepreneurs are invited to pitch their products and solutions at our virtual pitching event (register to attend on June 3rd at 2PM GMT) and at the SDG Finance Geneva Summit, scheduled in late November 2021.
