Verve International, Africa’s leading domestic payment network, celebrates another significant milestone: surpassing 70 million issued cards in Nigeria. This achievement solidifies Verve’s position as the dominant player in the Nigerian market, with a staggering 40% growth in card issuance year-over-year.

This, Vincent Ogbunude, CEO of Verve International, highlighted as the company’s dedication to providing secure and convenient payment solutions across Africa.

While emphasizing the importance of partnerships and their role in driving financial inclusion on the continent, Verve is thrilled to celebrate this milestone, adding 20 million new cards in Nigeria, and expresses gratitude to its partners and loyal cardholders.

Verve’s success stems from its commitment to innovation and strategic partnerships. The network has become the preferred choice across various banking tiers, particularly within the booming Nigerian fintech and neobank space. This growth is driven by Verve’s understanding of local market needs and collaborations with commercial and microfinance banks, fintechs, and public sector institutions.

Verve is dedicated to addressing Africa’s unique payment challenges. They offer secure and cost-effective solutions for individuals and businesses, with both physical and virtual cards. Verve cards facilitate payments for an increasing number of international services in local currency. Partnerships with major players like Google, Spotify, Netflix, and Uber demonstrate Verve’s commitment to providing users with convenient access to global services using their local currency.

Verve cardholders can not only transact seamlessly across Nigeria but also in over 21 other African countries. The company prioritizes expanding its network, with recent partnerships with East Africa’s leading financial institutions like KCB Group and Equity Bank. Verve also extends its reach through a growing network of savings and credit societies in Kenya and Uganda.

Verve recently launched its fifth Goodlife National Consumer Promo, a rewards program offering discounts and benefits to its cardholders at various Nigerian merchants. As a subsidiary of Interswitch Group, Africa’s leading digital payments enabler, Verve remains committed to pushing boundaries in customer experience and payment possibilities. Verve cards are widely accepted for everything payment-related, from POS terminals to ATMs and online platforms.
