The fifth edition of the Nigeria Mobile Economy Summit & Expo featuring Nigeria Mobile Economy Awards, is scheduled to be held on October 11, 2018, the organizers have officially announced.

In a statement in Lagos, the organizers said the new date for this year’s edition is in sync with Nigeria’s 58th Independence anniversary, which is celebrated every October.

The statement signed by Mojisola Alabi, Co-ordinator of the event, noted NIMES, which was earlier scheduled for September 26 at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, will now at the Protea Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

“In commemoration of Nigeria’s 58th Independence celebration, we have decided to hold the annual NIMES Summit & Awards in October. The Summit will start by 3 pm, and will be followed by the awards,” the statement disclosed.

Accordingly, the Summit will stimulate lively discussions among high-level decision-makers from the mobile and tech ecosystem, regulatory bodies, agencies and industry stakeholders around the digitization efforts of all sectors of the economy with the showcase of innovations.

The awards are set to honour outstanding individuals, organizations that have distinguished themselves in the areas of Fintech, telecoms, eCommerce, ePayment, Mobile Banking and the entire Business Ecosystem.
