The Minister of Information and Culture, Alh. Lai Mohammed and his Communications and Digital Economy counterpart, Dr. Isa Pantami will head Federal Government team that will engage microblogging platform, Twitter over possible lifting of suspension placed on it recently by the Nigerian government.

This is disclosed in a statement issued today by Segun Adeyemi, Special Assistant To The President (Media) Office of the Minister of Information and Culture.

Other members of the team approved by President Muhammadu Buhari are Attorney General of the Federation and Honourable Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Works and Housing and Minister of State for Labour and Employment as well as other relevant
government agencies.

The statement noted that following the indefinite suspension of its operations in Nigeria, for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate
existence, Twitter wrote to President Buhari seeking to engage with
the Federal Government over the suspension, with a view to charting a
path forward.
