Based on the new statistics updated on the Nigerian Communications Commission’s official website, the number of GSM subscribers joining various telecom networks in Nigeria increased by 6.18 million between January – April this year.

According to the Punch Newspaper, the GSM subscribers increased from 195.13 million to 201.31 million, making the first time in three years that GSM subscribers are crossing 200 million since December 2020 when they were 204.15 million.

The newspaper report revealed that as of April 2022, MTN Nigeria has a subscriber base of 76.19 million subscribers, followed by Airtel with 56.24 million subscribers, Glo with 56.14 million subscribers, and 9mobile with 12.74 million subscribers.
