The Nigerian government through the Ministry of Communications Innovation and Digital Economy has launched the Startup Support and Engagement Portal, describing it as a key requirement for the implementation of the Nigeria Startup Act.

Launching the portal, the Minister of Communications Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani noted that the portal will drive the identification and aggregation of Nigerian startups, venture capital companies, hubs and innovation centers.

He added that the launch of the portal became necessary to facilitate engagement and support for ecosystem players.

“The portal is aimed to initiate the process of setting up the startup consultative forums to select representatives to the National Council for Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship to facilitate discourse and consensus among Nigerian ecosystem players,” he said.

He therefore called on all Nigerian startups, VCs, angels, hubs, and innovation centers to visit the portal http://startup.gov.ng, register and explore the resources available to them.
