The Nigerian Internet Registration Association (NiRA) has set its agenda for 2024, placing the deepening of the Nigerian digital space by amplifying the .ng domain as a priority.

This agenda is contained in the President of NiRA’s first message to stakeholders in its monthly newsletter.

In the newsletter, Adesola Akinsanya stated “In 2024, NiRA aims to deepen its involvement in the Nigerian digital space by making a lasting impact on the Nigerian internet ecosystem. We recognize that the internet is central to our nation’s progress, connecting people, fostering innovation, and driving economic growth. NiRA is steadfast in its commitment to shaping and enhancing this digital space for the benefit of all Nigerians.

“To achieve this, we are placing a special emphasis on the .ng domain—the digital address representing our unique online identity. NiRA’s goal is not only to maintain but also to enhance the footprint of the .ng domain significantly. We envision a digital landscape where the .ng domain becomes synonymous with reliability, innovation, and a vibrant online presence for individuals and businesses alike.

“In the spirit of impacting the Nigerian internet space, NiRA is strategically positioned to drive initiatives that will elevate the visibility and value of the .ng domain. We are actively exploring partnerships with key stakeholders, industry influencers, and government bodies to create an environment that fosters the growth and adoption of the .ng domain.

“NiRA’s success has always been fuelled by the collective strength of its members. As we embark on this exciting journey into 2024, I encourage you to actively participate, share your insights, and contribute to realising our shared vision. Together, we can make the .ng domain a cornerstone of the Nigerian digital experience.”

Soliciting unwavering support to achieve a year of impactful growth, innovation and advancement for NiRA and the Nigerian internet community, Adesola noted that NiRA witnessed significant growth and accomplishment in 2023.

“Our collective efforts and commitment to excellence propelled us to new heights, establishing NiRA as a pivotal force in developing the Nigerian digital landscape. As we move forward, our focus remains unwavering, and our goals are set high,” he assured.
