Interswitch, an African integrated payments and digital commerce company, is set to launch the highly anticipated sixth edition of its InterswitchSPAK National Science Competition. This flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aims to celebrate and nurture Nigeria’s brightest young scientific minds.

The competition, which will premiere on Sunday, October 20, 2024, features 81 top-performing students selected from over 16,000 registered participants across Nigeria. Each episode will showcase the students’ brilliance as they compete for a range of prestigious prizes, including a grand prize of N15 million spread over five years.

InterswitchSPAK reinforces the company’s commitment to advancing educational excellence and empowering Africa’s youth through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The competition will air every Sunday at 5:30 PM on AIT network and at 6:00 PM on DSTV Africa Magic Family Channel 154, with repeat broadcasts every Wednesday at 1:00 PM on the same DSTV channel.

Cherry Eromosele, EVP, Group Marketing and Communications at Interswitch, emphasized the importance of InterswitchSPAK in nurturing young talent and driving Africa’s progress through innovation. “This initiative is a crucial step in developing a highly skilled workforce capable of addressing Africa’s challenges,” she said.

The competition offers a total prize pool of N30 million, distributed among the top three winners and other outstanding participants. In addition to the grand prize, the runner-up will receive N10 million and the third-place contestant will receive N5 million.

Interswitch also recognizes the invaluable role of educators in shaping the next generation of innovators. 27 teachers who prepared their students for the competition will be awarded cash prizes for their contributions.

To further support the students’ educational journey, Interswitch has awarded free JAMB e-PINS to the top 200 preliminary qualifiers. This initiative aims to encourage them to pursue higher education and continue their STEM studies.

InterswitchSPAK 6.0 promises to be an exciting and educational experience for viewers across Nigeria. Don’t miss the premiere on Sunday, October 20, 2024, and follow the competition every Sunday and Wednesday on the specified channels.
