    A landmark five-year partnership between Infobip and Bayobab, MTN Group’s digital infrastructure subsidiary, is set to revolutionize SMS services across Africa. This collaboration streamlines messaging for brands enhances security, and unlocks new opportunities for mobile operators.

    Here are the five key takeaways:

    1. Simplified Messaging for Brands:
    • Bayobab will leverage Infobip’s Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) to provide a single, unified access point for brands and aggregators to send SMS messages across the MTN Group’s network and beyond.
    • This eliminates the need for individual connections with multiple Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), significantly simplifying the process and reducing administrative costs.
    • Brands will benefit from enhanced control, security, reporting, and efficiency.
    1. Enhanced Security and Reliability:
    • Bayobab will utilize Infobip’s advanced security solutions, including a best-in-class firewall, to ensure the safety of mobile subscribers.
    • The partnership will optimize SMS connectivity and routing, ensuring reliable and high-quality service.
    1. Strategic CPaaS Enablement:
    • Infobip’s CPaaS platform provides comprehensive tools for campaign management, APIs, analytics, and route management.
    • This empowers Bayobab to streamline its SMS operations and expand its service offerings.
    • Infobip’s CPaaS enablement modules include: best in class CPaaS platform, route management, revenue protection, unified reporting, and onboarding tools.
    1. Driving Growth in Africa:
    • The partnership addresses the growing demand for messaging solutions, chat apps, and internet access in Africa.
    • By simplifying messaging and enhancing security, Bayobab and Infobip are unlocking the continent’s growth potential.
    1. Technological Advancement:
    • Infobip’s CPaaS enablement solution can integrate core telco network capabilities with RCS MaaP building blocks and Camara-compliant network APIs.
    • This partnership marks a significant step towards democratizing the messaging ecosystem globally, with a focus on collaboration with telecommunications companies.

    Commenting on the partnership, Kedar Gupte, Chief Mobility Business Officer at Bayobab, said: “We wanted to simplify how brands manage messaging in Africa with a single access point, high-quality service, and necessary controls. Our partnership with Infobip equips us to do this on a large scale and is crucial for tapping into Africa’s growth potential.”

    Also, Matija Ražem, Chief Commercial Telecom Officer at Infobip commented: “Our partnership optimizes Bayobab’s SMS connectivity and routing across Africa, supporting its expansion plans. We invested heavily in our CPaaS enablement capabilities, which now serve MNOs worldwide with top-tier security and efficiency.”

    This strategic alliance between Infobip and Bayobab is poised to transform the SMS landscape in Africa, creating a more efficient, secure, and accessible messaging ecosystem for businesses and consumers alike.
