A new survey from Sophos, a leader in innovating and delivering cybersecurity as a service has found that the cloud is a growing target for cyberattacks, indicating that among Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) users, 56% experienced an increase in the volume of attacks and 67% were hit by ransomware.  The survey, “The Reality of SMB Cloud Security in 2022’, also found that many of these users, a lack of visibility into their infrastructure, unpatched vulnerabilities and resource misconfigurations make them susceptible to various types of attacks, including ransomware. AstraZeneca has planned the expansion of its access to healthcare programme, Healthy Heart Africa (HHA), to 10 new countries, starting in 2023. The programme, which is currently present in nine countries, is designed to contribute to the prevention and control of hypertension and decrease the burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) across Africa. The World Heart Federation states that in 2019, Sub-Saharan Africa accounted for one million deaths from CVDs or 5.4% of all CVD-related deaths worldwide and 13% of all deaths in Africa. An Equinix Company, MainOne has undertaken important improvement and renovation work at Okun Ajah Community Senior Secondary School, Eti Osa, Lagos, as this year’s recipient of its annual Corporate Social Responsibility program. As part of its role to protect the Information and Communications Technology space and users in Nigeria, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has issued some advisory based on the alleged leak of nearly 500 million Whatsapp users’ mobile phone numbers globally, including over 9million contacts from Nigeria.
