The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has given six preventive measures following the Apple Patches Security Flaw in the iOS versions – 14.4 & 14.6, which affects all Apple devices. Sophos has announced the findings of its global survey, “Phishing Insights 2021,” which reveals that phishing attacks targeting organizations ramped up considerably during the pandemic, as millions of employees working from home became a prime target for cybercriminals. Data presented by Burga indicates that consumers globally spent $3.23 billion in social applications during the first half of 2021, a 50 percent increase compared to the same period last year. This is an indication that consumers are increasingly spending more in social apps as they utilize some of the innovative features introduced by players in the industry. As Cybercriminals have become even savvier with their tactics, embracing more sophisticated technology to lure people into clicking on things they should not, cybersecurity and anti-virus providers like Kaspersky are also thinking and providing tips on how to avoid the antics of cybercriminals. Compared to the same period in 2020, Nigeria has recorded a 13 percent decline in the number of phishing attacks recorded and blocked by Kaspersky for the first half of this year.
