The Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria (CSEAN) last Friday in Lagos officially recognized Mr. Remi Afon, the pioneer and immediate past President of the association as ‘Trailblazer of the Year 2022’ for his role in creating awareness about cybersecurity across Nigeria.

Speaking while presenting a plaque to Remi Afon at the Cybersecurity Merit Awards, which was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, the President of CSEAN, Mr. Ade Shoyinka said the recohnition to Mr. Afon is borne out of the association’s desire to recognize the effort Mr. Afon put into the association to make it what it is today.

“We are recognizing Mr. Remi Afon as ‘Trailblazer of the Year 2022’ for the role he played in creating awareness about cybersecurity in Nigeria and indeed Africa,” he announced.

The President attributed many successes recorded by the association over the years to Remi Afon, saying he is the architect of the annual Cybersecure conference, the annual cybersecurity predictions and many other engagements that has promoted CSEAN and ultimately, help protect the Nigeria’s cyberspace.

“I want to appreciate the Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria for the recognition. Though, it never crossed my mind that such a recognition will come my way on a special day like, I want to say this recognition will spur me to further work toward a safer online society,” he said.

Mr. Remi Afon is a solution oriented Cyber Security Specialist with notable success executing broad range of corporate IT initiatives while participating in planning and implementation of information security solutions in direct support of business and government objectives.
