The Edo government has said it is easing out physical files and will adopt and deploy electronic platforms for the running of the state activities from September 1, 2023.

Barrister Anthony Okungbowa, the state’s Head of Service who disclosed this during a re-orientation exercise for workers in the State, assured that staff would no longer be required to move files from one office to the other.

“We are deploying an e-platform for the running of the state’s activities. Thus, from Friday September 1, carrying of physical files will no longer exist,” he said while adding that all personnel will be carried along in the implementation of the policy.

While admonishing State civil servants to brace up and key into the policy,  Okungbowa noted that e-governance will ensure speed in getting jobs done and lead to an end in the use of physical files.

“There will be logins credentials of individuals to access the e-govern network. Workers can also use their Virtual Private Network (VPN) to access the e-govern platform from anywhere.

“From September 1, any worker who can’t use e-govern can’t go on leave or attend any programme that requires Duty Tour Allowance (DTA),” he stated.
