    Federal Government MDAs to spend N42B on IT Projects in 2017

    Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as well as other government establishments will spend N42, 560,945,191.00 on Information Technology projects in the 2017 appropriation bill.

    A check by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) revealed that the N42 billion represents 2.1 per cent of the total capital budget of N2, 048,989,578,222.00.

    This information is contained in a press statement issued by NITDA, drawing the attention of MDAs to seek clearance from the Agency before embarking on any Information Technology (IT) project.

    In the statement signed by its Director General, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, NITDA said the objectives of the clearance is to realize IT as a major driver and enabler of policies and national development plans; noting learning, knowledge and experience sharing should be part of IT projects among MDAs; and
