    Medallion emerges ‘Telecom Company of the Year 2021’ ahead of Broadbased, others

    Medallion Communications Limited, today beat Broadbased Communications, MainOne and Globacom to emerge the ‘Telecom Company of the Year 2021’ at the Titans of Tech Awards, organized by TechTV.

    Announcing Medallion as the winner of the ‘Telecom Company of the Year 2021’, the organiser said, Medallion touted as Nigeria’s Tele-House has continued to show resilience even in the face of challenges such as Covid-19, which has forced many organisations to close shop.

    ‘From our findings, Medallion has shown capacity in providing telecom services that are presently powering the country’s telecom industry and by implications, the economy. So, without a doubt, Medallion deserved the award,” said Don Pedro Aganbi, Managing Consultant, TechTV, organizer of the event.

    Also, Chief Executive Officer of Medallion Communications Limited, Engr. Ikechukwu Nnamani was presented the Titans of Tech Hall of Fame Award as the Outstanding Promoter of ICT for National Development.

    Reacting, an elated Engr. Nnamani described the ‘Telecom Company of the Year 2021’ award and Titans of Tech Hall of Fame Outstanding Promoter of ICT for National Development Award as a reward for hard work and consistency.

    He noted Medallion has been able to up its game by chopping out cutting-edge telecom infrastructure that is massively powering the telecom industry and have a wider impact on financial services and other sectors of the Nigerian economy.

    “For us, this is a reward for consistency in building telecom infrastructure that is currently accommodating the hosting of contents from both local and international service providers in Nigeria,” he said.

    Many stakeholders in the telecom industry see Medallion as the pillar of telecommunications in Nigeria, having pioneered the offering of public and private interconnection services through its carrier and Data Centre neutral exchange points in Lagos and Abuja.

    Medallion Communications Limited has strived and carved out a niche in the Nigerian telecom industry as an authority in interconnect exchange clearinghouse services. The company can be said to be an authority in the datacenter and interconnect exchange clearinghouse services.

    Its Data Centre facility has over 83 local and international service providers hosted on it, making it the most connected Data Centre in Nigeria. Some of the service providers connected to Medallion’s Data Centre include International gateway/submarine cables, GSM operators, CDMA/LTE operators, Fixed line/fixed wireless, long-distance providers, metro fiber providers, ISPs, VAS and other content providers.

    Medallion is currently hosting the site for the Nigerian Internet Registration Agency domain servers as well as a site for the Nigerian Internet Exchange Point. Several crucial infrastructure providers such as Google, Facebook, International Gateway Providers, etc are also hosted at Medallion. Medallion’s Data Center in Lagos has today rated the most interconnected facility in the West African sub-region.
