Meta, yesterday announced the launch of two exciting features that allow creators in Nigeria and Ghana to earn money for their amazing work on Facebook. Thus, calling on all content creators in the two West African countries to level up their content creation game.

Announcing this in a press statement, Moon Baz, Global Partnerships Lead, Africa, Middle East and Turkey (AMET) at Meta, expressed his excitement: “We’re constantly inspired by the creativity and talent of African creators who use Facebook to share their stories and connect with communities.”

This expansion will empower content creators in Nigeria and Ghana to turn their passion into profit, while raising the bar for global creativity and making Meta the ultimate platform for all content creators.

Here’s the scoop on the new features:

    • In-Stream Ads: These ads can appear before, during, or after videos, giving you more opportunities to earn from both pre-recorded content and live streams you’ve saved. There are different types of in-stream ads, including pre-roll (plays before the video), mid-roll (plays during the video), image ads (static ads displayed below the video), and post-roll (plays after the video).
    • Ads on Facebook Reels: This feature seamlessly integrates ads within your original Reels content. The more engaging your Reels are, the more you can earn! Keep creating awesome content and get rewarded for entertaining your fans.

    Ready to get started?

As of today, eligible creators in Nigeria and Ghana can start earning from their video and reel content. Meta offers support in over 30 languages globally. To join the fun, you just need to be 18 or older and comply with Facebook’s Partner Monetization Policies and Content Monetization Policies. For in-stream ads specifically, there are additional requirements, such as having at least 5,000 followers.
