    NCS announces Pantami as Guest Speaker at 2021 National Conference

    The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has announced the Minister of Communications & Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami as the Guest Speakers of this year’s National Conference, which will hold in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State from 3rd – 5th of August.

    Other personalities expected at the 3-day conference include the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Prof. Umar Danbatta; the Director-General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mal. Inuwa Abdullahi, President (International Federation for Information Processing  (IFIP), Prof Mike Hinchey; the Managing Director/ CEO Rack Centre Limited, Ayotunde Coker; Canada Research Chair Persuasive Technology, Prof Rita Orji; Group Managing Director and Founder/Co-Owner of FinTrak Software Ltd., Bimbo Abioye, among others.

    Meanwhile, an announcement on NCS official website has revealed that the conference will be hybrid (Virtual & Physical) under the theme: ‘Innovative Systems for Digital Economy’, assuring that the conference promises to provide an opportunity for governments, businesses, Academia and civil society to brainstorm on the development of the country’s information technology industry.

    According to NCS, the conference would enable participants to consider broad social, economic, and technical trends affecting the development of the digital economy and discuss policies that could respond to evolving societal demands.

    “At the core of the digital economy is innovation. It drives growth and stabilizes the economy through a well-coordinated relationship between the interconnected businesses, consumers and machines, powerful computing technology, intelligent devices and cyber intelligence,” it said.

    The announcement added that this year’s conference is carefully planned to bring together professionals from government, academia, and the industry, explaining that the conference will provide a platform to network with other professionals, share knowledge and learn new developments in the industry.
